OnniBus.com launches a major improvement in the intercity coach services between Helsinki and Turku region – the busiest intercity coach route in Finland. The current networks of OnniBus.com and Åbus will be combined in a restructured service that increases the services between Turku city center and Helsinki by 27 weekly round trips (+26 %) and the services between Helsinki and Raisio by 25 weekly round trips (+113 %). In addition the new services will connect the city of Naantali to Helsinki two-hourly with 47 new weekly services. Also the number of fast connections increases as the new hourly service between Helsinki and Turku will drive trough Meilahti and will be non-stop between Espoo and Turku.
OnniBus.com will keep growing and expanding also in 2016. Several new routes will be launched using Jyväskylä as a central point. Connections to and from Turku from all directions will be improved. Excisting routes will be further developed with new departures. OnniBus.com is constantly looking for interesting merger possibilities to further strenghten the network in Finland. OnniBus.com is also interested in the possibility of going to the rails, which has been said to be possible already next year.
Route F8 will depart from Turku Bus Station and stop at City Hall and Turku University. Next stops will be Lommila Espoo, Meilahti and Kamppi. Seven daily F8 services will continue from Turku to Pori via Rauma.
Route F1, currently operated to Caribia will be extended via Raisio City Hall to Naantali. F1 will stop in Caribia, Paimio TH, Salo, Muijala, Lommila, Turvesuontie Kehä 1, Keilaniemi, Ruoholahti and Kamppi.
”An hourly NonStop F8 service between the City Centers and two-hourly F1 from Naantali and Caribia to Helsinki City Center together form a great combined service between the cities of Helsinki and Turku. This is a great imprvovement to the earlier situation with separate Onnibus and Åbus services, because now we’ll have more frequent offering together with a totally new connection to Naantali.” Pekka Möttö, MD of OnniBus.com said.
”This is possible because of better coordination of the use of City Center bus stops which will result in better utilisation of the fleet.” Möttö continues. ”In addition to this, introducing new bus stops in wider Turku area will improve our offering substantially and benefit a large number of new customers while improved timetable benefits our excisting Onnibus and Åbus customers.” OnniBus.com’s improved F1 and F8 services are now on sale at www.onnibus.com.
